What is Coosa Bluewater and where is it used?
Coosa Bluewater is a high-density structural foam panel made from closed-cell polyurethane foam reinforced with layers of woven fiberglass. This advanced composite construction gives Bluewater panels exceptional strength, stiffness, and durability while remaining lightweight and water-resistant.
Coosa Bluewater is engineered as a superior replacement for marine-grade plywood and other traditional core materials. Unlike wood, it will not rot, absorb water, or deteriorate over time in harsh environments. It is dimensionally stable, mold-resistant, and provides excellent screw retention.
Bluewater panels are commonly used in structural marine applications such as:
- Transoms
- Stringers
- Decks and flooring
- Bulkheads and hatch lids
Outside of the marine industry, Coosa Bluewater is also used in transportation, RV, and industrial applications where high strength and resistance to moisture or chemicals are essential. It's compatible with most resins (polyester, vinylester, epoxy) and works with infusion, contact molding, or adhesive bonding methods.
