USC 24030 Duraglas — Fiberglass-Reinforced, Waterproof Filler

Duraglass® is the original short-strand fiberglass-reinforced filler designed for maximum strength and water resistance. Use it as your first layer when repairing rust-outs, holes, cracks, and weld seams on boats, autos, and composite parts.

Why Pros Choose It

  • 100% waterproof — won’t swell or break down when exposed to water
  • High strength — short-strand fiberglass reinforcement adds rigidity
  • Fast turnaround — sands in roughly 15–20 minutes @ 77°F
  • Versatile bonding — adheres to fiberglass, steel, aluminum, wood, SMC (cosmetic), concrete, and masonry

How to Use (Quick Steps)

  1. Grind/sand to clean, sound substrate and remove contaminants.
  2. Mix filler with cream hardener at ~2% by weight (do not over- or under-catalyze).
  3. Apply in thin, even layers; allow to gel, then build to shape (max sanded thickness ≈ 1/4").
  4. After cure, sand and featheredge; finish with a glazing putty or finishing filler as needed.

Pro Tips

  • Use Duraglass® as your first, structural layer; follow with a finishing putty for a show-smooth surface.
  • For larger holes, back with fiberglass cloth/screen on the first pass.
  • Always read and follow the TDS for temperature, gel time (≈ 3–5 min @ 77°F), and safety guidance.
