Awlfair D7200 Converter is the required hardener used with Awlfair LW D8200 to create a premium epoxy fairing compound system for marine and composite applications. Commonly used in Awlgrip systems, it activates the base component to cure properly and achieve a durable, sandable surface ready for primer and topcoat.

What is the D7200 Converter Used For?

The D7200 Converter is used to activate Awlfair LW D8200, allowing the fairing compound to cure and develop the strength, adhesion, and sanding characteristics required for high-end marine finishing.

  • Hardens Awlfair LW D8200 base
  • Enables proper curing and sanding performance
  • Supports high-quality fairing in Awlgrip systems
  • Used in above and below waterline applications

Mix Ratio & Application

Awlfair LW is mixed at a 1:1 ratio by volume (base to converter) using D8200 and D7200. Mix thoroughly to a uniform color before application.

  • Do not thin or add solvents
  • Apply using trowel, knife, or fairing tools
  • Pot life varies depending on temperature

System Compatibility

The D7200 Converter is specifically engineered for use with Awlfair LW and should always be paired with the D8200 base. For best results, use within a complete Awlgrip fairing and coating system.

  • Pairs with Awlfair LW D8200 base
  • Seal with epoxy primers such as High Build or Ultra Build
  • Designed for use in Awlgrip topcoat systems

Where This Fits in Your Filler System

The D7200 Converter is not a standalone filler—it is a critical component of a premium epoxy fairing system.

  • Use Q Cell for basic fairing
  • Use polyester fairing compounds like F206 for general smoothing
  • Use Awlfair + D7200 for top-tier marine finishing and Awlgrip systems
