Quick Overview

Awlgrip T0005 Hot Weather Reducer is a slow-evaporating spray reducer designed for Awlgrip, Awlcraft 2000, and Awlcraft SE topcoats in hot weather conditions (90–105°F). Helps improve paint flow and leveling while reducing premature solvent evaporation for a smoother, professional finish. Quart size.

Awlgrip T0005 Hot Weather Reducer – Quart

Awlgrip T0005 Hot Weather Reducer is a specialty slow-evaporating thinner formulated for spray applications of Awlgrip, Awlcraft 2000, and Awlcraft SE polyurethane topcoats in high-temperature environments. Designed for temperatures between 90°F and 105°F (32°C–41°C), T0005 helps maintain proper paint flow and leveling for a smooth, high-quality marine finish.

When spraying in hot weather, solvents can evaporate too quickly, affecting paint flow and finish quality. T0005 slows evaporation to provide additional leveling time and improve overall application performance.

Key Features & Benefits

  • Designed for hot weather spray applications between 90°F and 105°F.
  • Compatible with Awlgrip, Awlcraft 2000, and Awlcraft SE topcoats.
  • Slow evaporation rate improves paint flow and leveling.
  • Helps reduce premature solvent evaporation during spraying.
  • Can be blended with other compatible Awlgrip spray reducers to adjust evaporation rates.
  • Ideal for marine refinishing, yacht painting, and professional topcoat applications.

Application Information

T0005 is commonly blended with other Awlgrip spray reducers rather than used as the sole reducer. It can also be added at lower temperatures to improve flow; however, use below 75°F may significantly extend drying and taping times.

Always follow the applicable Awlgrip topcoat technical data sheet for proper mixing ratios, reducer selection, and application instructions. Excessive amounts in flat or semi-gloss coatings may increase gloss levels.
